This
router table was built by George to route the edges of bodies
for binding.

View
of one side of the Sanding Department. Note the variety of rotary
pin sanders for the many contours of G&L bodies. |
|
Another
view of the Sanding Department, this time showing the vacuum
benches where the detail sanding of necks and bodies take place.
These custom designed vacuum benches pull dust particles from
below the work surface. This helps keep the area clean so the
Sanding Department craftsmen can focus on achieving perfect
detail.

This
is Amanda's neck fitment bench. Here she removes paint overspray
in the neck pocket and trims the pocket to custom fit the neck.
By removing the paint from the neck pocket, the natural wood
of the body fully contacts the natural wood of the neck heel,
contributing to the superior sustain and tone of G&L instruments
over other bolt-on instruments. |

Very
old back-up wax potting pan. This one is older than G&L
but is still kept around, in part for nostalgia's sake. |
