David Hull Joins Tyler and Perry Onstage at Hollywood Bowl

The 14th Annual Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and Opening Night Concert was held on Saturday June 22. This year's inductees included singer John Legend, entertainer Patti Austin, and Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of the iconic rock band Aerosmith. The evening was hosted by acclaimed actress Angela Bassett and included four illustrious presenters including Arsenio Hall, Darren Criss, Stevie Wonder and Peter Fonda who had the privilege of introducing Tyler and Perry.

After declaring them to be "the baddest rock and rollers ever to be inducted," he turned the stage over to the veteran rockers, who performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Also joining the Boston duo was legendary bassist David Hull who played a gorgeous Blue Metal Flake G&L ASAT Tom Hamilton Signature Model. "Let's rock," said Tyler, as he, Perry, Hull and mates performed their set, stopping to thank the L.A. Philharmonic for the recognition, and the audience for supporting music education. The set concluded with a rousing version of "Walk This Way," that included the other honorees as fireworks lit the skies.

The star-studded evening was, as in past years, a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Philharmonic music education programs, including Youth Orchestra L.A., for which it raised $1 million. One of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, with a seating capacity of nearly 18,000, the Hollywood Bowl has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922, and is home to the best and brightest in all genres of music. It remains one of the best deals in Los Angeles; to this day, $1 buys a seat at the top of the Bowl for many of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's concerts. The venue offers something for everyone, from its sizzling summer evening concerts to the daytime summer arts festival for children, "SummerSounds: Music for Kids at the Hollywood Bowl," now in its 44th season. In February 2013, the Hollywood Bowl was named Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue for the ninth year in a row at the 24th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. The Hollywood Bowl has become synonymous with summer in Southern California. For more information visit www.HollywoodBowl.com.
